Air Jordan IX Holiday 2012 Retros

It hasn’t even been two years since the Air Jordan IX saw a mass release, but it appears that Jordan Brand was just taking a prolonged break. We’ve got some more Air Jordan Retro releases confirmed for Holiday 2012, so if the confirmation of the Air Jordan XI ‘Bred’ was too much to handle, you might not be able to bear this excitement. According to reliable source TheAFoot on NT, what’s expected to arrive this December is the Air Jordan IX ‘Cool Grey’, a Retro release that first dropped in 2002 that featured a two-hit combo of nubuck and patent leather on the upper. Along with the Cool Grey’s another classic color will make a return as the Olive colorway will also make a return in the fourth quarter of 2012.

Also confirmed is a Black/Blue colorway for November, and a special Johnny Kilroy edition in Black/Metallic Silver for October 2012. For those unaware of who Johnny Kilroy is: Kilroy was a fictional basketball player – an identity that Michael Jordan assumed during his first retirement from the NBA. This character was the subject of one of the best Air Jordan commercials of all-time, which featured comedian Steve Martin as an investigative reporter that was researching Kilroy, his true identity, and the possibility of Jordan faking his retirement. In any case, Sneaker News will keep you up to date on these upcoming Retro releases, so let us know your thoughts in the comments area below.

I hope they don't mess up the CG's. I sold off mine in NDS condition because they were a size 12, but fit like a 12.5.

Can't wait for these!

Also, I will turn this into the Official Jordan IX thread for all of the releases once we get more info, so please no more IX threads after this once the real pictures starting rolling out.

The bottom just fell off my CGs a few months ago so I'm over due for these. Last weekend of October 2002.....that was a good Saturday. Got some Js, copped a Cadillac, and it was Homecoming at Auburn...massive amounts of women.....I also nee those Olives, badly. Kilroy's sound ugly by the colors but we'll see. And the black/Photo blue/white pair sounds like they may have some potential .

I mentioned this back on Feb. 17th in the Blk/Red XI post after the owner of a local shop told me about them. I'm surprised it took this long for other insiders to post this info.

Word is the Olive IX will be a Footaction and Independent store release like the LS releases from a couple of years back.

The photo blue color way will be just like the citrus pair.

**And I will be trying to cop an Olive and CG pair. I sold my CG pair at the last sneaker summit because I needed a bigger size.

^Suede should be on them, its a matter of what type of suede they use...

I knew about the Olives coming back out, wasn't sure the CG's were confirmed too. I'm almost certain the Cool Greys are going to be all grey leather (instead of nubuck) to go along with the patent leather. I remember seeing a sample a while back, they still looked decent IMO but not quite as good as the first round.

Have no idea what the Kilroy's will look like, but I'm almost praying that the black/blues will be like these...

^what'd you expect? It certainly sucks, but $160 and up is the minimum for EVERY Air Jordan these days except for GR/basic retro I's. I'm sure when the OG colored white/red/black finally drop later this year (supposedly gonna be a QS or limited in some fashion like the Banned I's were) they'll retail for atleast $150 too though...

I dropped the news on the olives last month on our FB group. Had to wait for this for the other pairs.
